Prayer is absolutely vital if, the work here in Moulsecoomb and Brighton is to make progress. The Apostle Paul called us to "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me,that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel," and Paul was clear why prayer is so important - we are in a spiritual battle!
We would love for you to join our growing army of prayer support.
Perhaps you are blessed to be able to give a larger amount. Barnabas was a wealthy man who was also a sacrificial and generous man (Acts 4:36,37) A ‘Barnabas Partner’ helps us to broaden our support base. By ‘Barnabas Partner’ we mean individual Christians who commit to giving substantially (£20+ per month) long term on a regular basis. This is our most effective strategy since, although individual donors tend to give less than a whole church, if they suddenly stop, it has less impact on us. If you would like to give in this way
Out of their extreme poverty the Macedonians gave richly. We are not told how much they gave, but that doesn't matter. The Macedonian Partner Scheme is where we encourage people who will not give much - perhaps because they already support a major work - to give a small amount, say £10 per month. There is upward of 500 churches in FIEC alone. If we succeeded in just one donor giving £10 per month from 1/5 of FIEC churches, we will have raised £1000 per month.
The widow of Luke 21:1-2 only had a couple of copper coins to put in the offering. Perhaps you just cannot afford to give much. But like the widow you can still be generous. There are two ways you can do this.
1) Set up a Standing Order for £2 per month (or whatever you feel you would like to give before the Lord)
2) We will send you a 'Coppers' box. The idea is you encourage folks from your church to drop their 2 pence pieces in the box.
Your support and generous contributions will enable us in our mission to serve the Lord through the church.
